Support our work
Good journalism takes time. Your support helps protect it.
aidóni is a small, independent organisation. We do not chase scale, take shortcuts, or compromise our values for funding. What we do is slow, careful, and built to last.
Individual support makes a real difference. Not because it replaces institutional funding, but because it signals something harder to quantify: that this work matters to real people.
Support from individuals
Become a regular supporter
A small monthly contribution keeps the lights on. It funds the podcast, the thinking, and the slow infrastructure that makes the rest possible.
Cancel any time. No pressure, ever.
One-off gift
Give what feels right
A one-time contribution in any amount. Whether it is the price of a coffee or something more, it goes directly into the work.
What your support makes possible
The podcast
Recording, editing, and hosting What’s The Word? conversations about the language of crisis and conflict, freely available to everyone. Your support keeps the podcast independent, ungated, and able to feature voices from across the world without budget being the deciding factor.
Independent thinking
Essays, reflections, and public questions from aidóni and our contributors. We do not publish for volume. We publish when we have something worth saying, and your support protects the time and space that requires.
Training and capacity building
Developing and delivering training in constructive, inclusive, and solutions-oriented journalism, both for our own team and offered to journalists who need it. This includes workshops, resources, and the kind of slow, careful knowledge-sharing that rarely gets funded on its own.
Fair pay for contributors
We believe journalists, researchers, and practitioners should be paid for their work. Individual support helps us keep that commitment even when institutional funding falls short.
The infrastructure that holds it all together
The coordination, administration, and organisational foundations that allow this work to happen consistently and sustainably. It is unglamorous and essential.
Other ways to support aidóni
Financial contributions are not the only way to be part of this. If any of the following applies to you, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
Share our work
If something we have produced, a podcast episode, an essay, a guide, resonated with you, sharing it with your network is one of the most useful things you can do. It puts our work in front of the journalists, funders, and partners who need to see it.
Offer your expertise
Whether you want to help with programme design, communications, and organisational development or can support us through legal advice, financial guidance, technology, or something else entirely, a conversation about how you might contribute is always welcome.
Connect us
If you know a funder, organisation, journalist, or community whose work intersects with aidóni‘s, an introduction can open doors that cold outreach rarely does.
Join the network
We are building a growing network of journalists, researchers, practitioners, and agents of change who contribute to our work over time. If you want to be part of that, we would like to hear from you.
Offer a space
If you have access to a venue, an event space, or a meeting room, hosting one of our conversations, workshops, or programme sessions would make a real difference to what we are able to organise.
Contribute materials or equipment
Recording equipment, production tools, office supplies, or other materials that support our work are always useful, especially as a small organisation building from the ground up.
Questions about donating? Write to us at contact@aidoni.org. We are also happy to discuss other ways to support the work.
“aidóni helps people feel accurately represented, better informed, and less alone when engaging with crisis and conflict. If that matters to you, we’d be glad to have you with us.”
